Since the beginning of this summer, I have been busy with my house:

    • Planted the flower pots and my flowers, for the most part, are thriving under the shade of our tree.  The basil is the only thing I don't think will make it.
    • Painted the Patio Furniture black
    • Painted the living room a beautiful gray.  Debated on how to work with the Tudor style woodwork the lined one wall and finally decided on a lovely white.  Jon added his "expert" styling techniques and suggest the current arrangement of the bookcases and I am truly pleased with it.
    • Painted all the woodwork on the ground floor so it is all white
    • Got the knobs put on the kitchen cabinet doors.
    • Hung curtains in both my and Mia's room
    • Cleaned out the garage and got things for a best offer garage sale.  More on that will follow.....
I, also, have been busy with my hobbies:

This is what I have been doing, what about you?

    Hey big-puffy-version-of-Junebug

Two movies have come out recently that have to do with the word "Junebug".  Both have pregnant characters that are not truly ready for parenthood and odd eating habits.  Both deal with family tension.  Both happen in the blur of small town/suburbia.  Both end in a way that you don't expect.  However, one mother is prepared to name her daugher JunebugThe other mother is called Junebug.

    Liliacs

I remember liliacs blooming in the summer sun and the lilty aroma swaying in the cool evening breeze.  Most yards I knew had a lilac bush and I miss not having some land so I could plant one under my bedroom window.  I could smell them all night long all night during those two weeks when they bloom.  Scent is said to be one of the strongest ties to memory.  I think so.  Liliacs remind me of my childhood.  They take me to a time when school was ending for summer and all the possibities of rest and play and life seemed possible.  It has been so long since I was not working to simply enjoy the lazy summer days.  The liliacs remind me that one day I will have those lazy days again.

    Introduction to "I Remember Mondays"

Welcome to I Remember Mondays!  This comes from a writing exercise from my teen years.  I came across this book at my local library  many years ago and I instantly fell in love with the writing exercises and the tales of living a writer's life.  It spoke to me in a deep way, like someone understood the writer inside of me.  It also  helped me when I have had writer's block.  One of the basic exercises is to start with "I remember" and go.  Here we go...
