These movies take me back to the awkward high school years.  John Hughes captures those moments between childhood and adulthood with Molly Ringwald as his muse.  They are about A brain, a beauty, a jock, a rebel and a recluse, a birthday gone so wrong and so right, and the cliques we all survive.

At times, I understand the feelings however the surreality has never happened to me. 

 

 

Although, I have not found a muse to aleve this malady.

 

I have had a crush on him from way back.  He has been Romeo, Jack, Richard, Amsterdam, Frank Abagnale, Howard, and Billy.  With each of these appearances on screen, my crush goes deeper. all the way to the chicken pox scar on his forehead.

There is the Smiths (they are gun enthusiastists), Mrs. Parker (she drinks a bit too much), Mrs. Doubtfire (watch out for what's under the skirt) and Mr Ripley (he's a killer). 

Artists have always intrigued me.  It is something about the lives they have led and what inspires them.  Frida Kahlo and Henri Toulouse-Lautrec  are two artists' lives that are fanscinating.

Kate is one of the most interest female characters that Shakespeare had written.  The modern intrepretations of her show that she is never truly tamed.  Whether she is singing, a high school senior, or half of a TV duo, she exudes that confidence and fraility of the modern woman.

I love stories about Romeo and Juliet.  Whether it is about the first production, 1950's Manhattan, or 1990's Verona Beach, it is such a powerful story that reaffirms that love can change the world.

Gwyneth Paltrow has quite often been cast as an English Rose although born in LA.  She has been a muse, a literary resarcher, a matchmaker, and a woman leading two lives.  All this under the guise of an exquisite British accent.

This romantic form of communication is the subject of of this film fest.  Whether it is to reflect, reach out,  send imaginations or break time barriers, this is a favorite topic of mine.

This one is has been  one of my favorites and I have not done this one in a while!

 

Julia Roberts has starred in a number of films where a wedding takes place.  She is trying to be the bride, steal the groom, asking him to love her, raising his kids, mentor a school of brides, stand by another runaway bride, or use her signature color.
